ADVENT GIVING TREE - For some years now the ESCM has had the tradition of an Advent Giving Tree.  The tree will be displayed in the Church on Sundays 1st, 8th and 15th December.  The branches are decorated with gift tags and on these is written a request e.g. “Mother age 30”, “Dad age 35”, “Boy age 4”, Girl age 14”.  We ask for your generosity to help families and individuals in our community to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord.  You are asked to take 1 or more of these tags, purchase an appropriate gift and then return the wrapped gift to the office on Sundays or during the week, attaching the original request.  PLEASE RETURN BEFORE 12 NOON ON WEDNESDAY 18th December.  The gifts will then be distributed to the families.  Any gifts delivered later than this will not be distributed – it will be too late.  On this date we will also distribute any food items delivered to the office for our Food Pantry families.  This tradition in the ESCM is a wonderful example of the spirit of the ESCM community.  With the giving tree we can share and be aware of others.  Thank you and God bless.

Fridays, 6th + 20th December, our Bible Prayer Group will meet inroom Aggäus at 6.30pm.  All are welcome to join.

Sunday, 8th December - After the 11:15 am Mass, we will have our Mission Coffee Sunday, which will feature a special visitor, who will be very happy to speak to each and every child present.  Do come along and welcome him!

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) – The first meeting for adults who wish to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation of the Roman Catholic church (Baptism + Confirmation, but also Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist) will take place in the Antoniussaal in St. Anton's Foyer on Sunday, 15th December, immediately after the 11.15 Mass.  All those who are interested are invited to this meeting to receive information on how this preparation will proceed and what is involved.

Sunday, 26th January – immediately after Mass there will be a fundraising Coffee Sunday for the charity project in Indonesia.  The money raised will be used to build clean water infrastructure in the inland area of Oksibil Mountain, Papua.

The Food Pantry distribution in January will be on Wednesday 29th, 2-3pm, PROVIDED there is enough food to distribute to the families who make use of this service.  It is extremely important to support this ministry as a community by please delivering to the Mission office the following items: toiletries for men and women, household detergents, etc. and all non-perishable food items, e.g.: canned/bottled/dried foods such as: fruits, vegetables, soups, meats, tuna, corned beef, pulses and cereals, biscuits, sugar, salt, rice, packet soup, pasta sauces, vinegar, cooking oil, etc.  All donations, however small, are gratefully received.  !!!We do NOT however accept food that is already past its sell-by date or that has already been opened!!!  We ask our Food Pantry families to be punctual when they come to collect what has been donated.  Thank you.

For all you globetrotters out there!  “Mass Times for Travel” is the perfect free app for any travelling Catholic.  It allows you to find a Mass nearby, wherever you are.  It often offers additional information on availabilities for Adoration and Confession.  The app also provides directions to help you fulfill the Sunday obligation while on the road.
